Step 1: The Vision & Selection (Week 1) Your journey begins with a private consultation at our Kreta Ayer Road atelier. Over coffee, we define your exact desires—shape, carat size, and budget. Because 8X diamonds are incredibly rare, we don't rely on existing standard inventory. Instead, we digitally source the perfect canvas: either a rough diamond tracked via the Sarine Diamond Journey, or an existing high-quality polished stone that is suitable for precision re-polishing. At this stage, we provide a full price estimation based on the targeted carat weight after the uncompromising 8X cut is achieved.

Step 2: The Art of Precision Polishing (Weeks 2 to 9) Once the stone is selected, it is sent to master cutters. Achieving the eight strict parameters of a GCAL 8X grade requires sacrificing a significant amount of rough material (yield) to hit the mathematically perfect angles. Depending on the complexity of your chosen shape—especially fancy shapes like Pears or Ovals where eliminating the dark "bow-tie" effect is crucial—this meticulous polishing process takes anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks.

Step 3: Co-Creating the Ring Architecture (Concurrent) While your diamond is being cut by masters, your journey in Singapore continues. You aren't just waiting; you are designing. You will sit with our bespoke design team to build a 3D CAD model of your ring setting. Because we know the exact anticipated dimensions of your commissioned stone, we engineer the ring's architecture to perfectly cradle it, ensuring the setting maximizes light return from every angle.

Step 4: Scientific Grading & Certification (Weeks 10 to 13) After polishing, the diamond must prove its perfection. It is securely shipped to GCAL’s central laboratory in the United States. At the lab, the stone undergoes rigorous optical testing to ensure it scores "Excellent" in all 8 categories, including Optical Brilliance, Fire, and Scintillation. This intense verification, documentation, and the secure return shipping of the diamond back to Singapore takes between 2 to 4 weeks.

Step 5: The Final Masterpiece When your diamond arrives back at our Singapore atelier, the experience comes full circle. You will review the absolute visual proof of your diamond's perfection on our studio screens, exploring its high-definition optical scans, 3D fire videos, and its unique Gemprint® digital fingerprint. Finally, the scientifically perfect stone is set into the bespoke 3D model we designed together.
